That exact phrase was used in the CL ad for my truck!
I think it’s only appropriate if the rust is merely a cosmetic concern. If it’s just surface rust, or if it’s gnawing away at the edge of a wheel well, it could still qualify as “trusty”. But it doesn’t count if a critical component like a control arm or a subframe is rusting out.
